Academic qualifications:
Pharm. D: 1984, from Tabriz University, IRAN
PhD 2002, in Molecular Toxicology, University of Surrey, Guildford, UK

Positions held:
1986-1990: Instructor in medicinal chemistry
1992-1998: Instructor in pharmacology
2002-2008: Assistant professor of Molecular Toxicology
2008: Associate Professor of Molecular Toxicolog

Scientific achievements:
Further development of a non-radioactive single strand conformation polymorphism (SSCP) analysis for detection of new mutations in relatively long PCR products (up to 500 bp).

Identification and induction characterization of three human CYP3A4 gene alleles:
1- CYP3A4*1E containing a –369 T®A transversion in proximal promoter region of the gene.
2- CYP3A4*1F containing a –747 C®G transversion in the proximal promoter region of the gene.
3- CYP3A4*15B containing a nine-nucleotide insertion after –845 G and a –392 A®G transition in the proximal promoter region, and a +14269 G→ A transition in the exon 6 of the gene.
Construction of an alkaline phosphatase reporter gene system to assess xenobiotic induction of CYP3A4 gene in vitro.
